Basic Job Functions:

Job Title: VT Galvanizer Inspector/Welder

Division – Nucor Tower & Structures.

Location – West Hazleton, PA and Harrisburg, PA

Basic Job Functions:

The VT Galvanizer Inspector performs quality assessments of all outgoing products to ensure ASTM A123 requirements and Nucor Towers & Structures’ requirements are met.    Complete and maintain inspection records. Document, photograph, and communicate quality issues with vendors and internally. Additional duties include repairing galvanizing toe cracks identified by the UT QC inspector.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

 Minimum Requirements.

1. Safety, Quality and Detailed orientated.
2. Strong verbal and written communication skills
3. Complete AGA Inspection Course within 30 days of hire
4. Certify to AWS D1.1 SMAW and FCAW in the 3G position
5. Ability to work without direct supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Previous galvanizing inspection experience
2. SMAW and FCAW welding experience
3. AMPP Coating Inspection Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge and experience with the manufacture of steel transmission/distribution monopole structures.
• Knowledge and experience with weld inspection to the requirements of AWS D1.1 
• Goal oriented with a drive for continuous improvement.
