Basic Job Functions:

We are seeking an automation lead to build and develop a team and take site-level ownership over automation and electrical functions at Nucor Towers & Structures in West Hazleton, Pennsylvania.

 

The site will feature state-of-the-art controls, automation, and robotics for advanced steel manufacturing. The team will support the integration of robots into custom designed manufacturing cells and be responsible for maximizing equipment productivity.

 

  • Recruiting a diverse and high-achieving team
  • Training, developing, and coaching the automation team
  • Leading multimillion dollar capital investment projects
  • Attending automation, robotics, and equipment supplier training

 

 Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and two years of experience, an associate’s degree in a STEM field and four years of experience, or six years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • Diverse background in PLCs, HMIs, and industrial controls
  • Demonstrating leadership presence and inspiring, motivating, and empowering others
  • Ability to travel for training, equipment runoffs, and to NTS sites in Alabama, Indiana, and South Carolina

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience
  • Experience with Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLCs and drives
  • Experience with ABB robots
  • Experience with Ignition SCADA and HMI
  • Experience working in a greenfield environment
