NBSIN Steel Detailer(Drafter)/ BIM Modeler

Basic Job Functions:

Division: Nucor Building Systems Indiana

Location: Waterloo, IN, United States

As Steel Detailer (Drafter) / BIM Modeler, you will be responsible for detailing all components of a custom metal building system including the primary steel framing, secondary steel framing, wall panel systems, roof panel systems, and all associated flashings and trims to ensure all components fit together correctly as part of a complete design solution.   Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

These responsibilities include but not limited to creating:

• Construction anchor bolt drawings
• Permit/approval drawings
• Electronic 3D models of custom-building systems using 3D drafting software
• Shop drawings and reports for in-house fabrication and production teams
• Erection drawings and bill of materials for field construction use

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High School or General Equivalency Diploma

2. Accredited training, certification, or professional experience operating Architectural CAD software or 3D Modeling software.

Preferred Qualifications:

1.  Associates degree with focus in Architecture, Drafting, Construction Management or Engineering Technology.
2.  Training or experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software such as Tekla
3.  Experience operating CAD software.
4.  Basic knowledge of standard construction practices
