Structural Line Group Leader
Nucor Building Systems Indiana (NBSIN) is seeking a driven and hands-on Structural Line Group Leader to join our team. In this role, you’ll lead from the front—owning safety, developing teammates, and driving daily production performance. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact on both people and process in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, while building a team culture rooted in accountability, continuous improvement, and results.
Basic Job Functions:
Responsibilities for a production group leader include but are not limited to:
- Lead Safety & Compliance: Champion a safety-first culture by enforcing policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards while proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
- Coordinate Cross-Functional Workflow: Partner with internal teams to ensure production schedules, resources, and priorities are aligned for efficient operations.
- Maintain Critical Records & Reporting: Accurately track and manage documentation related to safety, production, inventory, attendance, payroll, equipment maintenance, and teammate performance.
- Develop & Coach Teammates: Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to strengthen team capability and performance.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements across safety, quality, cost, and productivity to enhance overall team effectiveness.
- Support Hands-On Operations: Assist with production activities as needed, including operating equipment and supporting day-to-day floor operations.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Demonstrated Leadership Experience, either formal or informal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience or cross training related to building systems structural operations.
- Prior professional leadership experience.
- Current AWS and/or CWB weld certifications.
