Maintenance Technician- Continental Shift

We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician- Continental Shift who takes pride in their work, values safety, and wants to be part of a team that drives continuous improvement across our facility.
This role is responsible for maintaining production equipment and facility systems to support day-to-day operations, minimizing downtime, and improving overall performance. If you enjoy troubleshooting, working hands-on with equipment, and contributing to a high-performing team, this is a great opportunity to grow your career in an industrial environment.
Basic Job Functions:
- Maintain and repair production equipment: Perform routine and preventative maintenance on production machinery to ensure safe, reliable operation and minimize downtime.
- Support facility systems and utilities: Maintain building systems and utilities critical to plant operations, ensuring all systems are functioning efficiently.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues: Diagnose equipment failures and implement timely, effective solutions to keep production running smoothly.
- Partner across departments: Work closely with production, engineering, and leadership teams to plan maintenance activities and support operational needs.
- Drive continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, production tracking, process efficiency, and plant automation.
- Follow and promote safety standards: Uphold all safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards while actively contributing to a safe work environment.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in an Industrial Maintenance setting, or education/experience that would apply to Maintenance
- Dependable/Flexible, willing to work overtime without notice.
- Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship both now and in the future. Nucor is unable to provide sponsorship for this role.
- Must be willing and able to work a Continental Shift, 10 am to 10 pm.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Multi-craft work history.
- Ability to read CAD drawings
- Knowledge in hydraulics design.
- Knowledge in the electrical field.
- Knowledge in Programmable Logics Controls.
- Extended education in a technical/engineering field.
