NBSIN Maintenance Supervisor

Nucor Buildings Group is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations within our manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring all equipment and systems operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a passion for continuous improvement in both people and processes.

Basic Job Functions:

Commitment to Safety, Quality, and Reliability: Lead by example to uphold Nucor’s commitment to a safe, environmentally responsible, and high-quality workplace. Maintain compliance with safety procedures and ensure that maintenance activities support safe operations at all times.

Supervise Maintenance Operations: Oversee all aspects of equipment maintenance, repair, and reliability. Coordinate preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure equipment operates at peak performance.

Technical Expertise: Demonstrate strong working knowledge of plant systems, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components. Provide troubleshooting guidance and support to the maintenance team.

Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop maintenance teammates to achieve department goals. Evaluate performance, provide feedback, and facilitate training to enhance technical and leadership skills.

Process Improvement: Identify and implement maintenance process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce costs, and extend the life of plant equipment.

Planning and Scheduling: Work closely with production teams to plan maintenance activities that align with production schedules. Manage parts inventory, vendor relationships, and maintenance records.

Emergency Response: Respond quickly to unplanned equipment failures or facility issues, ensuring repairs are completed safely and efficiently to minimize production disruption.

Communication and Collaboration: Maintain clear communication with operations, engineering, and leadership to align maintenance priorities with production needs and company goals.

​​​​​​​Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude preferred
