Role
Nucor Building Systems – Indiana, a division of Nucor, is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant I to support key functions within our Finance department. This role contributes to the execution of daily and month-end accounting activities, including journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, compliance and financial reporting, and tax-related tasks. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of accounting principles and a strong interest in gaining broad exposure across the finance function, including opportunities for cross-training in areas such as Accounts Payable. This position offers valuable experience across multiple areas of corporate accounting and serves as a strong steppingstone for long-term career growth within Nucor.
Basic Job Functions:
- Support Compliance & Financial Reporting: Assist with maintaining compliance in financial documentation and reporting processes.
- Contribute to Month-End Close Activities: Support the coordination and completion of tasks related to monthly financial close, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of entries and reports.
- Prepare Account Reconciliations & Financial Analysis: Perform general ledger account reconciliations and assist in compling internal financial reports and basic variance analysis.
- Provide Cross-Functional Finance Support: Receive cross-training and offer backup coverage for Accounts Payable and other Finance Functions as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365
