NBSIN Structural Supervisor- 3rd Shift
Nucor Building Systems Indiana (NBSIN) is seeking a dedicated and safety-driven 3rd Shift Structural Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will lead by example, ensuring that teammates operate safely, efficiently, and with pride in the quality of their work. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about continuous improvement, teamwork, and developing others.
Basic Job Functions:
- Commitment to Safety, Quality, and Productivity: Lead by example in upholding Nucor’s unwavering commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, product quality, and productivity through integrity and daily leadership.
- Oversee Manufacturing Operations: Supervise the safe and efficient manufacturing and receiving of metal building components according to specifications, schedules, and customer requirements.
- Process Knowledge and Improvement: Develop a strong understanding of machinery and manufacturing processes on each production line, identifying and implementing improvements that drive efficiency and cost savings.
- Team Communication and Collaboration: Foster open communication and teamwork within the group to ensure alignment, productivity, and a positive work environment.
- Performance Management and Development: Evaluate teammate performance, provide constructive coaching, and set clear expectations during growth and development discussions to support individual and team success.
- Hiring and Accountability: Take an active role in interviewing, hiring, and holding teammates accountable to Nucor’s standards of safety, performance, and integrity.
- Flexibility and Travel: Be available to travel with short notice as needed to support division needs and company initiatives.
- Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of leadership experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-4 year degree in a related field
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations
- Experience troubleshooting production lines and material handling systems
