Quality Assurance Analyst
The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for ensuring software quality by performing manual and automated testing. This role works closely with team members, product teams, and stakeholders to support effective processes. The analyst focuses on delivering reliable, high-quality software solutions by assessing software functionality, identifying issues, and embracing continuous improvement efforts.
Basic Job Functions:
- Assess Software Quality: Evaluate software quality through manual and automated testing to ensure functionality, data integrity, and performance meet defined standards.
- Plan and Execute Testing: Participate in test planning, execution, and validation for customized software solutions used by internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain and Improve Test Standards: Follow established test processes while contributing to the continuous improvement and evolution of testing standards and practices.
- Identify and Communicate Defects: Detect, document, and clearly communicate software defects, bugs, and data inconsistencies to support timely resolution.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner closely with Developers, Testers, and Product Owners to support high-quality software delivery.
- Own Quality Outcomes: Take ownership of assigned testing efforts, apply enterprise-level impact analysis, and hold yourself and others accountable to high quality standards that support long-term value.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline. Equivalent combination of experience and education is also acceptable.
- Five or more years of experience in IT Quality Assurance or a similar role.
- Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, now and in the future. Nucor is unable to provide sponsorship for this role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the metal building industry or, at minimum, in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Hands-on experience with Quality Assurance tools and processes, including test automation frameworks and reporting tools.
- Extensive experience in Microsoft DevOps for managing work as well as writing and executing Test Scripts.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum or similar) and their application in QA and support environments.
- Experience with data management tools (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio) for troubleshooting and reporting.
- Exposure to automation strategies and emerging technologies such as machine learning and AI for process improvement.
