Group Operations Development Manager

Basic Job Functions:

• A commitment to the continued growth of Buildings Group's (BG) business health and profitability. 
• Product group leadership to create operations of the future. Innovating with a focus on design/detailing tools, fabrication, and overall product throughput. 
• Investigate state of the art software platforms that BG can deploy to create the most efficient and flexible engineering operation in the metal building market. 
• Investigate, develop, and launch new fabrication procedures and equipment that improves our production efficiency while achieving our goal of  being the world's safest steel company. 
• Bestmark with Nucor product groups to leverage software and fabrication innovation. 
• Source and oversee software development contractors and equipment suppliers used for product, software, and service development. 
• Work with other Nucor product groups to improve our collaboration and develop process that make our businesses seamless to work together. 
• Provide routine updates to teammate and customers on development. 
• Establish, maintain, and publish metrics to measure the team's performance towards Nucor's goals. 
• Work closely with the Reliability Manager and Product Innovation Manager to ensure smooth transition with existing tools and our commercial strategy. 
• Travel with short notice. 
• Review teammate performance to identify coaching needs and to set expectations through growth & development sessions. 
• Create a culture of inclusivity where teammates develop for roles of greater responsibility while fostering innovation and results. 
• Responsible for determining staff and contractor needs which include interviewing, hiring, and accountability for the department. 
• Other duties as assigned by the Buildings Group/Panel Group General Manger Team and the President. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3 years of prior leadership experience including overseeing direct reports.
• 3 years of metal building experience or formal education in either software development, engineering, or manufacturing fields.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
