Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Tuscaloosa is seeking a leader for the position of Controller. This is a Department Manager level position that reports to the Vice President/General Manager. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Leadership role in promoting safety as a value, environmental stewardship, and profitability
  • Leadership role in managing all the division's accounting/financial reporting, as well as being a key contributor in developing/executing the strategic direction of the division and product group
  • Leadership role in managing human resources, information systems, purchasing-related activities and legal matters
  • Leadership role in protecting Nucor's assets through risk-management activities and maintaining an appropriate internal control structure
  • Provide general financial expertise and leadership to analyze business situations and formulate appropriate strategies
  • Be a key business partner to the commercial, operations, and maintenance teams to help facilitate continuous improvement across the facility and maximize profitability

 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or accounting
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in financial related positions
  • 5 years prior leadership and supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA and/or MBA
  • Previous ERP implementation experience.
