Basic Job Functions:

The role of the District Sales Manager is to lead the sales and marketing efforts for The Nucor Plate Group in the Inter-Mountain (SLC) territory in support of taking care of our customers. This position will require extensive travel. Must be willing to relocate. The successful candidate will be responsible for quoting and securing business: spot and contract, providing forecasts, and recommending new business and customers. Supporting the Plate Group and Nucor Enterprise’s strategic growth initiatives are essential. Nucor teammates are expected to participate in and promote an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork. 
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four-year Business Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and relocate to the Inter-Mountain (SLC) territory.
  • Four years of steel sales experience or qualified DDSM candidate
  • Demonstrated track record of growing new business, prospecting, developing, and closing accounts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters’s degree in a Business-related field.
  • Steel plate sales experience.
  • Working knowledge of the Inter-Mountain / Western steel market and its end-user base (fabricators, OEMs, service centers).
