Basic Job Functions:

  • Read and interpret shop drawings.
  • Maintaining housekeeping and helping to control scrap.
  • Obtain and maintain the GMAW 2G welding certification.
  • Assure that structural components are assembled correctly.
  • Safely operate an arc gouger, grinder, and magnetic drill and flip-rite cranes.
  • Communication up and down the line to ensure quality and completeness.
  • Being flexible to work any schedule needed.
  • Properly perform and pass NDT welds and inspections as required.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor Buildings Group Texas will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).

 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience with reading drawings, prints, and proficient with tape measure and micrometer.
  • 2G GMAW weld certification.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Crane and forklift certifications.
  • Prior welding/fitting experience.
  • Experience reading blueprints
  • Possess basic understanding of metal building system fabrication.
