Basic Job Functions:
Responsibilities for the Quality Coordinator include but are not limited to:
- Oversee the quality claims process for materials received from vendors that do not meet quality requirements.
- Work with all lines to prepare for internal and external audits, and coordinate with third parties to ensure audits are conducted on time, compliance is maintained, and findings are reported to the division.
- Track QSRs by line and ensure each QSR is assigned to the appropriate line's bonus.
- Ensure calibrations are up to date and properly recorded.
- Maintain weld procedures and certifications.
- Support internal quality checks and perform spot audits; prepare training as needed to educate and correct deficiencies.
- Manage, coordinate, and continuously improve the division Quality Control Program to maintain high levels of quality performance throughout the division.
- Seek continuous improvement in every facet of team performance with a keen emphasis on safety, quality, cost, and productivity.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor Buildings Group Texas will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of fabrication reports, assembly drawings, and part drawings.
- Knowledge of fit-up and weld standards per IAS AC472.
- Experience working in a fabrication facility.
- Ability to achieve CWI within 2 years.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with fabrication, design, or inspection of pre-engineered metal building system components.
- Prior quality control experience in manufacturing (IAS, Keystone, Miami-Dade, Intertek).
- Current CWI certification.
