Basic Job Functions:

The Product Buyer is responsible for executing procurement strategies that support the operational and financial objectives of Nucor Buildings Group. This role manages the purchasing of raw materials, stock and non-stock building accessories, and other assigned products while ensuring materials are available at the right time, cost, and quality. Key responsibilities include issuing and managing purchase orders, coordinating on-time deliveries, resolving supply or delivery concerns, supporting month-end reconciliation, and maintaining accurate purchasing records. The Product Buyer develops strong supplier relationships, identifies opportunities to improve cost, service, and reliability, and supports continuous improvement of purchasing processes. This role works closely with internal teams and suppliers to support successful project execution and provides cross-functional support to other Purchasing teammates as business needs require.

Candidates are required to work in-office for training and onboarding. This is a hybrid role which requires working on-site at the plant multiple days a week.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor Buildings Group Texas will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Applied knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word documents as well as ERP.
  • High School Diploma / GED Equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 2- or 4 -year B.S or B.A. degree
  2. Previous experience in purchasing & inventory management
  3. Knowledge of metal building components
  4. Experience using MRP software
  5. Familiar with Microsoft D365, DocuWare, and BOMS Software
