Basic Job Functions:

The primary responsibilities of the Inventory Specialist include but are not limited to: Relieving inventory daily. Completing inventory tracking, investigating discrepancies, and adjusting inventory when necessary. Administering physical inventory counts with the plant and warehouses. Assisting in processing inventory claims with vendors. Planning and preparing month/year end inventory reporting for closings.  Addressing any inventory concerns from internal customers.  Filing and scanning of inventory documents. Preparing and submitting purchase orders for procurement of office supplies and warehouse/steel as needed.  Performing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor. 

Candidates are required to work in-office for training and onboarding.  This is a hybrid role which requires working on-site at the plant multiple days a week.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor Buildings Group Texas will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).

 

 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma
  2. Prior experience using Microsoft Office tools (IE: Excel and Word)
  3. Critical thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Previous experience in purchasing & inventory management
  2. Knowledge of metal building components
  3. Experience using MRP software
  4. Familiar with Microsoft D365, DocuWare, and BOMS Software
  5. Mobile equipment/Overhead crane operational experience
