Basic Job Functions:
Responsibilities of the BIM/VDC Project Coordinator include but are not limited to:
- Represent Nucor Buildings Group on integrated-design projects requiring BIM or VDC coordination.
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings with customers, architects, engineers, contractors, and trade partners, revising the model accordingly after each meeting.
- Review architectural, structural, and trade models to identify clashes, scope gaps, constructability concerns, and missing information, also review Nucor scope of work throughout the BIM/VDC coordination.
- Create, review, coordinate, and manage project models using Revit, Navisworks, Tekla, and related platforms.
- Communicate project requirements, design decisions, risks, and action items to internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate with Sales, Estimating, Engineering, Detailing, Project Management, Manufacturing, and Field Services.
- Support design-assist, value-engineering, constructability, estimating, and preconstruction activities.
- Help transition coordinated projects from preconstruction into engineering, detailing, fabrication, and construction.
- Develop and improve BIM standards, workflows, templates, and best practices for the Preconstruction Services team.
- Travel periodically for customer meetings, coordination sessions, project reviews, and site visits.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor Buildings Group Texas will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Willingness and ability to travel to builders’ offices and job sites, possibly on short notice.
- Required to have and keep a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with pre-engineered metal buildings, structural steel, or building-envelope systems.
- Experience representing a manufacturer, fabricator, subcontractor, or specialty trade partner in BIM coordination.
- Experience with design-assist, design-build, integrated project delivery, or other collaborative project-delivery methods.
- Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree or technical education in construction management, engineering, architecture, drafting, building science, or a related discipline
- Certification of Management – Building Information Modeling (CM-BIM)
