Basic Job Functions:
Responsibilities for the Autowelder Operator include but are not limited to:
- Trouble shooting problems and changing out consumables as needed.
- Maintaining housekeeping and helping to control consumable cost and scrap.
- Removing all flux from produced parts.
- Ensuring plates are on parts before sending them to weld pit.
- Filling flux hoppers.
- Operator-level maintenance of machinery.
- Communication up and down the line to ensure quality and completeness.
- Operating the Autowelder machine while making constant adjustments.
- Being flexible to work any schedule needed.
- Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with reading drawings, prints, and Nucor weld standards
Preferred Qualifications:
- Crane and forklift certifications
- Cross training experience on Autowelder
- Autoweld Certification
- Weld Certification
- Prior mechanical experience
