Basic Job Functions:
The primary responsibilities of the inventory specialist include but are not limited to receiving/entering all warehouse and steel receipts, relieving inventory daily, completing inventory tracking and investigating inventory discrepancies. Responsibilities also include managing physical inventory counts, preparing month end reports, completing and tracking inventory adjustments and addressing inventory concerns from internal customers. The teammate in this position must be successful working in a team setting or independently on projects that will help the division reach its goals. Additionally, the inventory specialist assists in processing raw material claims, filing and scanning inventory documents and performing other tasks as assigned by the manager and backing-up other purchasing teammates.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Supervisor and/or manager recommendation.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of general inventory practices.
- Applied knowledge and practice using Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word documents.
- Ability to plan around month/year end closings.
- Critical thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiar with Microsoft D365 and BOMS software
- Knowledge of metal building fabrication
