Basic Job Functions:
The Accountant fulfills an integral transactional and reporting function in the Finance Department with a focus on customer service to both internal and external customers. Job responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Assist with all weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly closings
- Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures complying with federal, state and local financial legal requirements and Nucor accounting policies
- Accounts Receivable-generate daily invoices, apply appropriate sales tax and resolve issues as they relate to invoicing
- Cash Management-apply customer payments timely, process daily deposits and reconcile bank statements
- Customer Credit Functions, including collections and lien documentation
- Accounts Payable-process intercompany account payable transactions
- General Ledger-maintain select general ledger accounts reconciliations
- Tax Reporting-process the remitting of monthly sales tax
- Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing job responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications:
- 4-year degree in Accounting
- 2-3yrs of experience in Accounting
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or CMA
- Prior experience with Sales Tax reporting and regulations
- Working knowledge Microsoft Dynamics 365
