Vulcraft Indiana, a division of Nucor, is a well known leader in the design and manufacture of custom-engineered steel joists and decking.  We are a team that provides our customers with high quality products, tools and technological solutions that drive profitability. 

Basic Job Functions:

The responsibilities of the Engineering Manager will be to lead the Engineering Department of Vulcraft Indiana and ensure alignment with Nucor and Divisional expectations. They also must participate as a member of the division's leadership team in driving sustainable, profitable results. They are also expected to recruit, select and develop the talent needed to sustain and grow Nucor.

• Lead the division's detailing, shop orders, engineering, and quality efforts in alignment with Nucor's expectations. 
• Recruiting, select, and develop the right team with a balance of technical, business and leadership skills.
• Develop and manage the systems and processes necessary for effective execution of near and long-term division strategies.
• Support division efforts in innovation through collaborative problem solving and technical support.
• Provide leadership in the division and group projects that target and produce the highest returns for Nucor.
• Must have the ability to travel as needed.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be a Civil or Structural PE with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Leadership experience in an Engineering Department
• Work experience in Sales, Sales Service, Finance, Production or Shipping
• CWI Certification
