Basic Job Functions:

The Electrician/Controls Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to, taking care of our customers by executing the division’s safety, quality, cost, productivity and profitability objectives.  This includes conduit installation, wire pulling and landing; PLC installation, programming and troubleshooting; motor control installation and troubleshooting; electrical schematic reading; and working on 12,470 volt, 3 phase circuits down to 24 volt circuits and Rockwell Ladder logic This position also helps troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic issues along with any other duties of the Maintenance Department to ensure maximum uptime and production efficiency.  The Electrician is responsible for overtime and on-call coverage as requested by the supervisor. 

 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2-year degree in the electrical field, successful completion of trade school in the electrical field, or at least 3 years industrial electrical experience (Manufacturing preferred)
  • 2 years experience with HMI Programming
  • 2 years experience with drafting electrical prints

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College level or technical school course work in machine design, electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics, or machining.
  • 6 months or more experience with mobile equipment and ariel lifts
