Travel Expectation:

Travel for this role is approximately 30% and includes customer job‑site visits for investigations, on‑site education, supplier development, and audits. Some may be required on short notice.

Basic Job Functions:

The Technical Services Specialist is responsible for answering customer quality and application questions in a timely and accurate manner by phone and email. This role supports our customers while helping the division achieve safety, quality, cost, production, and profitability objectives. Key responsibilities include evaluating and interpreting customer requirements (prints and specifications) to determine manufacturability within Nucor Fasteners, serving as the first point of contact for technical services and quality inquiries, and determining when issues should be escalated as formal claims or complaints.

 

This role will be expected to serve as backup support for Quality Engineers when needed.

 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years fastener manufacturing experience
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Quality Process Knowledge (APQP & PPAP)
  • Blue Print Knowledge (Used during special quotes, APQP and PPAP)
  • Specification Interpretation (Reading and reviewing specs to meet customer expectations)
  • Knowledge on ISO14001 and IATF 16949 Audits
