Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Fastener Division is a leading domestic manufacturer of steel fasteners located in northeast Indiana. Our customer base serves markets including construction, heavy truck, industrial and distribution.
The Technical Services Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, answering customer quality and application related questions in a timely and accurate manner via phone or email, in addition to taking care of our customers by executing the division’s safety, quality, cost, production, and profitability objectives. Essential functions of this position include evaluating and interpretation of customer requirements (prints or specifications) to determine how or if they fit in Nucor Fasteners’ production; first line of response to technical services/quality emails and calls; decision-making between regular Technical Services inquiries and formal Claims/Complaints from customers; travel to job sites (30% expected) for customer quality issues and education, supplier development and audits (and on short notice if required). This role will also be the main backup for Quality Engineers as needed.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates or bachelor’s degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fastener Manufacturing Knowledge
- Quality Process Knowledge (APQP & PPAP)
- Blue Print Knowledge (Used during special quotes, APQP and PPAP)
- Specification Interpretation (Reading and reviewing specs to meet customer expectations)
- Knowledge on ISO14001 and IATF 16949 Audits
