Pay:
Our compensation structure is based on a pay-for-performance. Pay-for-performance means your pay is determined by how much of a product you produce or contribute to making.
Average pay is $52 per hour plus our comprehensive benefits package.
Shift:
Work hours are a rotating 2-3-2 Continental Night Shift from 7p-7a.
Basic Job Functions:
The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for a specific production area and may be reassigned to a different area in the future based on department needs.
The candidate selected for this position will work closely with and support our Maintenance and Production Teams. Primary responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to: preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing, upgrading, installing and commissioning plant equipment. Our teammate will assist with projects for process improvements and will provide technical service and support for operations.
Our Electricians work with motors, digital and analog electronics, schematics, print reading and control circuits, AC/DC theory and electrical maintenance, computers/PLC and test instruments, power supplies, power distribution and mechanical and hand/power tools as it relates to manufacturing equipment. Teammates will use CMMS to complete work orders, research parts, and to schedule maintenance work.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two-year electrical technical degree or 3-5 years of electrical technical experience.
- Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and shifts including scheduled and unscheduled overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Four-year technical degree
- Clear demonstration of electrical technical ability
- Extensive AC & DC motors and drives experience
- Knowledge and experience with Power systems maintenance
- PLC systems building, programming, and troubleshooting experience
- Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
