Pay:
Our compensation structure is based on a pay-for-performance. Pay-for-performance means your pay is determined by how much of a product you produce or contribute to making.
Average pay is $52 per hour plus our comprehensive benefits package.
Shift:
Hours are 3pm - 11pm and can vary based on staffing and business needs including overtime, holidays, and weekends.
Basic Job Functions:
The Forming Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating forming equipment to produce high-quality parts. Job duties include:
- Use of hand tools and basic mechanical principles.
- Troubleshooting and maintaining equipment.
- Setting up and changing over for different production runs.
- Interpreting product prints and using basic math skills (fractions, decimals, standard/metric units) to inspect parts and make machine adjustments.
- Conducting quality checks on parts using micrometers, calipers, and other gaging equipment.
- Loading raw material into machines using an industrial forklift.
- Using welders, cutters, and grinders as part of the production and general maintenance process.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED.

One (1) year of experience operating industrial machinery in a manufacturing or production environment.

Ability to read and interpret technical prints (must also pass a print reading during the interview process).

Valid driver’s license (required to be forklift certified after being hired).

Experience using welders, cutters, and grinders in a production or maintenance setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Two (2) years or more of experience operating industrial machinery in a hot forming, forging, or similar forming equipment.

Demonstrated ability to learn new machinery or processes quickly, such as completing training programs or certifications in less than 3 months.

Experience working in fast-paced industrial manufacturing environments with minimal supervision.

Experience that can be confirmed by a trusted professional reference familiar with your work.
