Shift:

This position will either be 2nd (3p-11p) or 3rd (11p-7a) shift and will be assigned by the hiring Supervisor.

Basic Job Functions:

**Nucor Fastener has one (1) opening on 2nd shift and one (1) opening on 3rd shift.** 

 

The role of a Lab Technician includes, but is not limited to, testing product samples to ensure they are in compliance with established specifications and standards. The individual will also contribute to the improvement of the Nucor Fastener Quality Management System through participation in the IATF 16949 and ISO/IEC 17025 certification programs. Lab testing includes product characteristics such as: dimensional, proof load, tensile properties, hardness, magnetic particle, micro-hardness, rotational capacity, tension control assembly testing, hydrogen embrittlement testing, and others. Additional job duties will include any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Office Proficient  
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule including scheduled and unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts, weekends, and/or holidays 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Quality Laboratory practices and related equipment. 
  • Post-secondary coursework in a technical field. 
  • Experience with a quality management system (i.e., ISO9001, IATF16949). 
  • Familiarity of quality-related documentation such as GRR, MSA, PPAP, FMEA, etc. 
  • PC Proficient
