Basic Job Functions:

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

 

  • Provide quality, professional service to customers, carriers and teammates.
  • Call customers to arrange delivery appointments.
  • Dispatching loads to carriers. 
  • Responsible for general knowledge of tracking and control.
  • Assist with creating bill of lading
  • Control truck flow by appointment times using Dock Scheduling.
  • Willing to work 10+ hours per day.
  • Ensure data entry and driver log integrity.
  • Input data daily in reports as assigned.
  • Maintain shipping schedule reporting accuracy.
  • Participate in load audits.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • One year of experience using Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc) in a business setting.
  • Prefer 1 year in an administrative role

This also includes effectively anticipating and meeting customer needs and the ability  to adjust approach based on situation.
  • Communication Skills- The ability to give full attention to what others are saying and effecticely communiccate information so that others can understand.
  • Organizing, planning and prioritizing - Developing specific goals and plans for prioritizing, organizing and accomplishing individual work  and the work of the team
  • Teamwork - Working as a part of a coordinated effort with others to achieve a common goal.
  • Time management - Managing one's own time and the time of others.
  • Judgement /Decision Making - Identify problems and analyze related information to develop and evaluate options in order to choose the most appropriate solution.
