Basic Job Functions:

<<ADD YOUR CONTENT HERE>>Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

The incumbent will perform startup, changeover, and shutdown procedures for the assigned production line area. Responsibilities include milling, turning, drilling, tapping, deburring, molding, bench operations, and inspections. Teammates must be able to perform quality checks and provide guidance to line personnel to facilitate optimal performance and operational efficiency.

The selected candidate will perform basic preventive maintenance, report equipment malfunctions or abnormalities, complete required reports, and respond to inquiries as needed. The incumbent must accurately track material usage and reconcile usage at the end of each shift through data entry in Excel spreadsheets.

 

The Machine Operator is responsible for maintaining cleanliness within the assigned production area, complying with all company policies and procedures, and performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Excellent attendance and safety record. Knowledge of basic machine functions and operation.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Machines and Processes - Using either control mechanisms or direct activity to operate equipment and processes, this includes monitoring equipment and processes to ensure they are working properly.

 

Attention to Detail - Thorough in accomplishing tasks, no matter how small they may be, and taking care to make sure that expectations are met.

 

Teamwork-Working as part of a coordinated effort with others to achieve a common goal.

 

Initiative - Being proactive with seeking out work that needs to be done and being willing to take on responsibilities and challenges.

 

Leadership- Willingness and confidence to have immediate and direct conversations on critical alignment issues such as teamwork, building relationships, initiating and supporting change, and production process issues that arise. This includes the willingness to face adversity and conflict head on.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Preferences:

  • Operational knowledge of machines and processes in a structured manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to work across multiple stations.
  • Understanding of general machine setup and teardown processes.
  • Ability to maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Experience operating a crane and/or forklift.
  • Ability to follow prescribed safety rules and regulations while maintaining quality standards.
  • Machine and process troubleshooting experience.
  • Proficiency in the use of a tape measure and other required tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Machine Operator experience in a manufacturing environment.
