Basic Job Functions:

  • Assembling components and ensuring that all parts are fitted correctly
  • Control and adjust equipment settings to complete simple tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely manner
  • Assemble fabricated parts, components, or other units
  • Align materials and assemble parts to build units
  • Handle fiberglass/insulation
  • Work with various chemicals including adhesives and hardeners
  • Use hand and power tools to cut, drill, grind, and fasten materials
  • Use simple measurement instruments such as tape measures and scales to verify correct product build specifications
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • General housekeeping duties (sweeping, emptying trash, etc.)
  • Support other departments when work is slow in assembly
  • Occasionally driving forklift
  • Performs related duties as assigned by supervision

 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Basic math skills
  • Read and understand blueprints
  • Use hand and /or power tools
  • Basic reading and writing skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working for a manufacturing company
  • High school diploma and or equivalent and /or related experience
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure to precise measurements
  • Knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing
  • Bilingual English/Spanish, preferred
