Basic Job Functions:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our growing team. This role will be responsible for leading capital projects across NTS. The ideal candidate will have a strong construction background, proven leadership skills, and a track record of delivering complex multimillion dollar projects on time and within budget.

 

  • Project Planning and Scope Development:
    • Defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables; developing detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
  • Resource Management:
    • Managing project budgets, coordinating project resources (human, financial, material), and overseeing vendor and contractor relationships.
  • Project Execution and Oversight:
    • Directing and monitoring project activities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards, and overseeing construction progress.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identifying and mitigating potential project risks, such as schedule delays, cost overruns, or construction issues.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Maintaining clear communication with project stakeholders, OEMs, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.

 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in engineering, construction or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proven experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing capital projects
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, timelines, and competing priorities effectively
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% to visit vendors (international travel required) and to NTS sites in West Hazleton, PA, Decatur, AL, Crawfordsville, IN, and Brigham City, UT and/or Rock Hill, SC.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Construction industry experience
  • Steel industry experience
  • Hot dip galvanizing industry experience
  • Experience with automated material handling
