Basic Job Functions:

NIPGSE Prince George is seeking applicants for our Inventory Coordinator position. The teammate in this position must be successful working in a team setting or independently on projects that will help the division reach its goals. This is a developmental role, and the duties of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Entering/receiving steel and chemical products.
  • Coordinating on time deliveries of steel coil.
  • Managing cycle counts and physical inventory counts with the plant.
  • Completing inventory tracking and investigating discrepancies.
  • Completing inventory adjustments and inventory movement with outside processors, as necessary.
  • Addressing any inventory concerns from internal customers.
  • Filing and scanning of inventory documents.
  • Preparing, analyzing, and manipulating reports.
  • Month end counts and reporting for receiving and allocation of materials.
  • Ability to plan around month/year end closing calendar.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient with Excel, Microsoft office applications and other data management tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience or degree in purchasing, inventory control or accounting.
  • Previous experience with an inventory management system.
  • Forklift Certified or be certified within 90 days

Physical Requirements: 

  • Computer use: Extended typing, data entry, and screen time for email and orders.
  • Manual dexterity: Frequent hand use for typing, phone, and documents.
  • Visual focus: Sustained attention to screen details.

Environmental Demands: 

  • Office-based: Primarily in a climate-controlled setting.
  • Plant/Outside access: Exposure to weather conditions, heat, cold, noise, dust, machinery, and uneven surfaces; PPE required. 
  • Fast-paced: Requires multitasking, prioritization, and meeting deadlines.
