Structural Shift Supervisor_KBS

Basic Job Functions:

Kirby Building Systems is seeking to hire a Shift Structural Supervisor in our pre-engineered steel buildings production facility in Portland, TN. The role of the Supervisor is to provide vision, planning, leadership, and direction to our Production Department.

Responsibilities for the Production Supervisor include but are not limited to:

• Provide departmental leadership in all facets of production operations including safety, environmental compliance, personnel, contractor management, data collection, construction projects, sourcing suppliers and cost control.
• Responsible for hiring, training, and development of teammates to achieve their full potential.
• Review teammate performance and determine coaching needs through evaluating and providing consistent performance review as well as coaching for future advancement in the company.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with team. 
• Manage department cost while being extremely flexible to our customer’s needs.
• Must demonstrate a commitment to the continuous improvements in Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Productivity through honesty, trustworthiness, and leadership by example within their work group and throughout the division.
• Must have schedule flexibility (occasionally with short notice)
• Ability to continuously multi-task while maintaining organization.
• Must have a strong desire to improve. (Department, division and self.)
• Other duties assigned by Manager.
• Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Three (3) years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for Visa sponsorship. (Nucor will not sponsor the need for a Visa now or in the future)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Microsoft Office 
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations
• Technical / Engineering background
• Experience with coaching and mentoring for teammate development
