Basic Job Functions:
Maintenance teammates are responsible for maintaining everything on the property; rapidly diagnosing issues with equipment/processes and then provide/executing solutions. Must be self-motivated to aggressively attack problems and get the process running again. Maintenance Teammates must be able to think through problems and overcome any hurdles that get in the way.

Ability to conduct a wide array of jobs, including but not limited to:
- Install/wire and repair new and existing equipment
- Fabricate components in house
- Run conduit
- Use multi-meter and/or other equipment as needed to diagnose malfunctions
- Tear down equipment and properly reassemble in working order
- Utilize multi-meter and other test equipment as required by the maintenance department
- Operate machinery and mobile equipment to troubleshoot problems
- Use man-lift and scissor lift
- Read and understand schematics/drawings, create a logical path of troubleshooting
- Maintain a clean and organized work space at all times
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
-
Good communication and organizational skills
-
2 year degree in industrial maintenance or equivalent work experience or enrollment, selection and participation in Kirby Building Systems Maintenance Assistant Program.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge and experience with 480 volt 3 phase electrical systems and machinery

Knowledge and experience in mechanical and hydraulic systems
-
Ability to weld:mig, tig and stick preferred

Ability to use plasma cutting devices
-
Ability to use oxy-acetylene torch
