Detailer

Basic Job Functions:

As a 2D Steel Detailer/Checker, you will be responsible for detailing and releasing to production all components of a custom metal building system including the primary steel framing, secondary steel framing, wall panel systems, roof panel systems, and all associated flashings and trims to ensure all components fit together correctly as part of a complete design solution.

The Responsibilities include but not limited to creating:

• Use MBS and CAD to produce 2D fabrication and field erection drawings
• Fabrication drawings and reports for in-house fabrication and production teams
• Bill of materials for field construction use

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic math, geometry, and trigonometry skills
• Experience operating CAD software
• 2 years metal building detailing experience
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (NUCOR will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum Associates degree or two-year vocational school certification with a focus on Architecture, Drafting, Construction Management or Engineering Technology
