Basic Job Functions:

The Security Clerk serves as the first point of contact for individuals seeking entry into Nucor Steel Utah, including customers, contractors, and delivery drivers. Responsibilities will include confirming appointments, completing initial screening to help ensure prohibited items are not brought on-site, notifying team of visitor arrivals and issuing gate passes. The clerk will also provide access for visitors to required electronic training, as applicable. In addition, the role may provide clerical support to multiple departments using Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and Nucor-specific applications.

 

Safety is the top priority at all Nucor locations. The Safety Clerk is expected to work safely at all times, comply with all job-related safety requirements, and clearly communicate applicable safety expectations to visitors upon entry. This position also supports communication regarding potential weather-related emergencies and assists with coordination of emergency services, as needed.

 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of clerical or administrative experience, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, and other computer software/applications.
  • Must be willing to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and scheduled/unscheduled overtime.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and other computer software/applications
  • Experience in a security-focused role
  • Demonstrated interest in professional development and assuming additional responsibilities
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and professional demeanor.
  • Demonstrated accountability, dependability, and reliable attendance in previous roles.
