Basic Job Functions:
The Heat & A/C utility is responsible for the maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Perform routine maintenance and inspections, diagnosing and repairing issues, ensuring all systems are operating efficiently and effectively. Work with a variety of systems and equipment, including boilers, chillers, air handlers, HVAC, refrigeration units, and control systems. Lead and support Nucor’s values around Safety, Quality, Cost, Productivity, and Continuous Improvement.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts and scheduled/unscheduled overtime
• Experience with HVAC systems
• Strong work ethic with a desire to gain industry knowledge
• Willing to work at heights and extreme temperatures
Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and mechanical aptitude skills
• Previous experience as an HVAC & refrigerant technician
• Experience in designing and installing new systems
• Heavy industrial equipment maintenance
• EPA Section 608 and 609 certified
