Basic Job Functions:

The role of the Electrical Engineer is to be a leader in safety, while supporting operations and showing engineering excellence.  They will provide division-wide technical expertise, assist with long term capital planning, provide project leadership and planning, coordinate preventative maintenance measures, and will be vital to the advancement of Nucor’s Maintenance strategy:

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

•    BS Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications and experience in the electrical power field
•    Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Experience in industrial electrical engineering.
•    Experience with melting, casting, or long product rolling.
•    Electric Arc Furnace regulation.
•    Familiarity with NFPA 70E-Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace
•    Experience with Capital expenditures budgets and implementation
•    Experience interpreting technical drawings and design specifications
