The successful candidate will champion our division’s efforts to become the world’s safest steel company. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager. The Day Production Supervisor is responsible for leading change and developing team members. They must drive our safety culture and be willing to take responsibility for self and others by setting an example for others to follow while focusing on a strategy and vision that aligns with division, group, and enterprise goals. This includes setting expectations that ensure safe operations and efficient flow of our production floor, managing costs, educating the team on business dynamics, preparing proposals and justifications for projects, and driving personal development for each teammate. The successful candidate will lead a team that produces a finished product that exceeds our customers’ expectations. The successful candidate will develop and foster successful relationships with scheduling, sales, shipping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure on-time delivery is a priority.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Familiarity with safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
- 2-5 years of demonstrated experience leading others.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and weekends, as needed
- Basic understanding and functional capacity using Microsoft products

- Supervisory or Leadership experience with the cold finish, fastener, automotive or steel related manufacturing industry
