Rover

Basic Job Functions:

A Rover is instrumental in keeping the production lines operating. Duties include but are not limited to -learning how to operate all production equipment with the goal of being able to fill in for any equipment operator. Rovers also assist in transferring material throughout the plant, sort bundles, assist shipping, and other duties as needed. This position is paid average production bonus. There are no set hours for a Rover. Hours are determined weekly based on where this person can be best utilized to insure optimum production for this Cold Finish operation. This person may work different shifts from week to week and at times, different shifts within the same week. This person will also become an internal auditor and be trained as a quality or environmental auditor. Hours will be based on business conditions. If business conditions or customer demands increase/decrease, hours will be adjusted accordingly. Weekend and holiday work will be scheduled as needed. This person will be responsible for product quality, housekeeping and care of the equipment being used. 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

Must be capable of operating various equipment and machinery, including overhead cranes &forklifts and all job-related tools and hand tools.

1. Production experience
2. Previous experience in steel or manufacturing related environment
