What you’ll do:
- Install, inspect, maintain, and upgrade equipment including, but not limited to MCCs, switchgear, transformers, substations, and cables
- Support both Low Voltage and Medium Voltage distribution systems (including reactors and SVCs)
- Lead projects with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to drive improvement in system reliability and safety
- Perform arc flash analysis and mitigation
- Serve as an electrical safety trainer
- Collaborate with Nucor’s corporate power team to implement best practices

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of an Associate’s degree in an electrical field is required and/or equivalent experience in the electrical field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Electrical Engineering with power emphasis or other pertinent training, certifications, or experience
- Melting, casting, or rolling process experience.
- Experience with short circuit studies including relay coordination, arc flash analysis, transient analysis, and harmonic analysis.
- AutoCad capability and experience programming microprocessor relays.
- Equipment upgrade, installation, and commissioning experience.
- Working knowledge of NFPA 70E and NFPA 70B
