Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel – Nebraska is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Metallurgical Engineer. This position will be responsible for working with the melt shop, roll mills, sales, non-destructive testing line, and shipping to ensure technical requirements and material specifications are met with Nucor Steel products in a wide variety of applications. The responsibility of the Metallurgical Engineer will be to work on solve quality issues, help maintain the multiple quality systems, and help out any department with any quality concerns. Candidates will be required to travel, as needed. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (Nucor will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy/Materials Engineering or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with machine learning and AI.
- Experience with continuous heat treat.
- Non-destructive testing experience.
- Previous Steelmaking experience.
