Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel- Nebraska is looking for qualified candidates to fill the role of Melt Shop Shift Supervisor. This role is responsible for the overall operation of the Melt Shop including Safety, Environmental Compliance, Quality, and Customer Satisfaction. This teammate is responsible for coordinating activities between Melt Shop production and Maintenance in all aspects of the steelmaking process including scrap selection, EAF melting, LMF refining practices, casting operations, and delivering product to the customer. The Melt Shop Supervisor is responsible for motivating people, defining expectations, and making sure that the expectations are met. This person is responsible for communicating the goals of the department and the plant and developing a plan for the crew to achieve them. Candidates must be able to work rotating shifts and scheduled and unscheduled overtime to include nights, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (Nucor will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).

 

 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3 Years Minimum of Leadership Experience
  • Steel making experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SBQ steelmaking practices
  • 3+ Years of Melting Shop Experience
  • 4-year technical degree or equivalent experience
  • Interest in relocating within Nucor as future opportunities arise
