Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel – Nebraska is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Lab Technician.  The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, testing steel samples in the tensile machines, operating a lathe and other lab equipment, performing chemical analysis of finished product, delivering fast accurate test results, verifying finished product meets customers’ needs, and general upkeep and maintenance of lab equipment. This position will also cross train with inspectors as needed.  Candidate must be able to work rotating shifts and scheduled/unscheduled overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor Steel Nebraska will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).

 

 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous lab/testing experience.
  • Previous manufacturing and computer systems experience
