Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel Nebraska is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Human Resources Manager to lead HR functions for the division. The position will report directly to the division controller and will partner with the divisional leadership team to support Nucor’s mission of becoming the safety and most sustainable steel manufacturer in North America.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership and development of the human resources team and will be instrumental in helping set the strategy for the HR team to foster open communication and ensure timely resolutions to teammate issues to include:
- Compensation/Benefits/Metrics: Working with HR team on proper administration of NSNE compensation and benefits and creating relevant metrics.
- Teammate Relations: Handles division-wide communication, responds to teammate and manager concerns, assists with investigations.
- Working closely with the leadership team to provide counsel and guidance regarding Nucor policies, practices, and state and federal regulatory compliance requirements.
- Building relationships, managing projects and collaborating across departments and levels of the organization to design and implement HR solutions for business needs.
- Oversee compliance with all local, state, and federal labor laws.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Business, or related field or equivalent years of relevant work experience
- 3 years of leadership experience
- No relatives employed at Nucor Steel-Nebraska division (Nucor Corporation Policy No 21 B 3)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior Experience working with SAP, SuccessFactors, or similar HRIS
- HR Certification through HRCI or SHRM
- Working knowledge of federal and state employment law
- Prior experience in HR Functions and payroll in manufacturing environment
