Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Nebraska is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Accountant.

 

The Accountant will be responsible for a variety of accounting and financial reporting functions, including but not limited to:

  • General ledger accounting
  • Corporate, tax, and divisional reporting
  • Assisting with internal and external audit processes
  • Maintaining and continuously improving internal controls
  • Partnering with departments across the organization to analyze and evaluate costs
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the business

 

This position will also participate in cross-training efforts within the Finance Department. Candidates must be willing to work overtime as necessary, including required overtime during month-end processing and close activities.

 

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

 

 Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Strong computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cost analysis and profitability reporting
  • Manufacturing accounting experience
  • Strong motivation to cross-train and pursue continuous professional development within the role and Nucor
