Short Description
Provide clerical, data entry, and other assistance for the Accounts Payable, Contracts, and Shipping departments.
Basic Job Functions:
- Must adhere to Nucor safety programs and standards.
- Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor vision and values.
- Enter and post invoices into the accounts payable system.
- Scan and email invoices to locations for approval.
- Code and voucher all purchase order invoices.
- Answer vendor inquiries regarding payment and communicate with internal personnel to resolve problems.
- Print checks on a weekly basis.
- Match paid invoices to check stubs.
- Maintain paid invoice files.
- Review vendor statements.
- Coordinate freight invoice entry.
- Perform month end processes.
- Communicate/distribute all pertinent Human Resources information to location employees
- Develop exceptional working relationships with customers and vendors
- Assist accounting during inventory
- Communicate any necessary info to other departments
- Handle some retail orders: Quoting; Tagging; Preparation of paperwork; Payment collection
- Some purchasing required
- Backup for other administrative personnel
- Perform other duties required by the supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
- Must have a high school diploma, GED or local/state equivalent
- Two to three years of prior experience in accounts payable or equivalent work history

- Accuracy and attention to detail are essential
- Must maintain confidentiality with regard to financial information
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software program (especially Excel)
- Two-year degree in accounting a plus
Physical Demands
- Typical office activities (walking, sitting, standing, bending)
- Using hands to operate objects, tools, computers and other electronic equipment
- Lifting/handling computers and related equipment (typically not more than 25 pounds).
- Vision abilities including close vision and adjusting focus
- Moderate noise level

Must be able to work overtime when required
