Crane and Mobile Technician

Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Memphis is seeking a Crane and Mobile Technician who demonstrates high levels of honesty, integrity, and ownership in everything they do.  This role supports the coordination and execution of safely maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading all overhead traveling cranes and plant mobile equipment.  This role will include constant coordination and building relationships between all departments, to ensure the highest reliability of our overhead cranes with the highest regard for safety of all teammates.  This teammate must have the ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and unscheduled overtime.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Two years’ experience in electrical maintenance
• Min 6 months experience in mechanical or electrical aptitude with crane/mobile equipment
• High school diploma

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior overhead crane maintenance background
• Prior Maintenance with heavy industrial equipment
• Welding/fabrication experience
• AC motors, AC motor control experience
• PLC, Automation, and VFD experience
• Academic coursework in engineering, military training, or prior industrial maintenance experience
