Driver

Basic Job Functions:

Nucor LMP is seeking  Drivers committed to taking care of our customers.  The successful candidate must be committed to the pursuit of excellence in safety, costs, reliability, and overall profitability of the division. The role of Driver is responsible for the transporation of goods to the customer and the pickup of backhaul materials with the use of a company provided truck and trailer. 

Responsibilities include:

• Performing tasks with proper safety equipment, including but not limited to; hard hat, ear plugs, steel-toed slip-resistant boots, long sleeved shirt, and long pants.
• Maintaining professional appearance of self and equipment
• Delivering product safely and accurately
• Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Communicating any necessary maintenance or service issues to supervisor or maintenance shop
• Maintain accurate ELD and/or records and comply with all local, state, and federal DOT laws and regulations, and follow all company policies.
• Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and OSHA
• Skillful operation of Class A truck and flatbed trailer through all types of environments
• Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations.
• Daily driving requirements could require a driver to be on duty for 14 hours and driving for 11 hours.
• All other duties as assigned

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 25 years old.
• No DUI’s in the last 5 years
• Able to pass a DOT physical & drug test.
• Must be able to lift more than 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Posses a valid Class A CDL.
• No more than 1 moving violation in the past 3 years.
