Basic Job Functions:
This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service and a wide range of payroll support to our team members, while maintaining confidentiality and integrity of the payroll data. The role of the Payroll Coordinator includes but is not limited to weekly processing of all payroll activities; preparation, filing, and reconciliation of quarterly/annual federal and state tax returns; month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing; preparing W2s; preparation and submission of weekly and monthly reports to accounting. The Payroll Coordinator will also assist with administration of various company sponsored programs/projects (service awards, scholarships, educational reimbursement, etc.) as well as maintaining records and document retention. This position requires a high level of integrity, ethical character, and honesty in all actions.
This position can work from the Marseilles IL or Ghent KY office.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of customer service experience.
- Due to the sensitivity and confidentiality required of the position, candidates must not have family currenting working for Nucor Tubular Products.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience
- Payroll tax and financial reporting experience
- SAP payroll, Success Factors, and other HR related systems experience
- Degree in business or related discipline
- Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
